  • Green Jobs BC is launched.
  • First Conference, Jobs, Justice, Climate: Building a Green Economy for BC is held presenting 18 workshops for over 120 participants.

 


 

2011

  • Environmental and Labour Steering Committee is established. 

 


 

2012

 

  • Second conference Retrofits and Buildings: Building a Green Economy is held featuring over 30 speakers
  • Good Jobs for a Green Future: Moving a Vibrant Green Economy Forward in BC is released.
  • Green Jobs BC provides briefing for all BC political parties in lead up to election. 

 


 

2013

  • Over 100 organizations and municipalities throughout BC endorse The Bold, Green Jobs Plan.
  • Op Ed by David Suzuki and Jim Sinclair runs in the Vancouver Sun. 

 


 

2014

 

  • Town Hall Tour completed through spring and fall visiting eight communities throughout BC to gather ideas and feedback on recommendations and priorities.
  • Building a Green Economy - Best Practices for Local Government is released highlighting the role of municipalities in creating green jobs and lowering GHGs.

 


 

2015

 

 

  • Green Jobs BC launches a new website including a new logo.
  • Green Jobs BC submission to the provincial government’s Climate Leadership Discussion Paper focuses on four areas; public transit, renewable energy generation, buildings and carbon tax.
  • Green Jobs BC partners with Pembina Institute, North Growth Foundation and The Pembina Foundation to support Pembina’s interactive Green Jobs map. 

 


 

2016

  • Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow  – Green Jobs BC’s third conference raises over $40,000 in sponsorships, presents over 50 speakers and hosts 180 participants. 
  • Op Ed by Lisa Matthaus and Darryl Walker runs in the Vancouver Sun.
  • Green Jobs BC’s support list has over 2,500 followers.
